Did you know that the IRS recommends that you check your tax withholding every year? As our pup, Wufer, points out on the IRS web page, you should “Check your withholding ever year”, in addition to life changes like major income changes (raises, etc), becoming a parent, and/or buying a home.

That’s right! You should check your tax withholdings and update your W4 based on your latest circumstances.

If you prefer, you can use the W4 Deductions worksheet from page 3 of the IRS W4 form. (Yes. There is a page 3. Very few people notice that page with all the forms we fill out when starting a new job. But, click on the link above and you will see the full form from the IRS website.)
